June 18. 2003 - Early bird and a late one too| Please send your comments/reports/log-sheets/audios to DK5YA

A nice opening for the boys from UA6 and UT5 cause it was very early in the morning and there was a first/first today. At 0500 UT BC was crowded with Arab stations at RZ6BU. At 05:50 lots of unlis from different Arabic countries on 144 MHz with RZ6BU and finally at 07:12 RZ6BU made SU on 144 in FM! Congrats. Same time UT5 was working 4X4 and there were lots of unlis and Arabic music stations on 144 heard in LZ. The opening lasted for more than 2 hours but only a small amount of QSO's due to the very low activity in these countries.
Later in the afternoon MUF was suddenly rising very fast up to 144 from DL to SV at 17.00 UT. First signals on 144 at 17:22 when SV3CYR was into DL. Bit later SV1OE reached the band while LZ was into F. Cloud was moving north for G to YO and SV and PA0 to SV and LZ and YO. Short and spotty one that lasted until 18:14 UT. Later SK6HD [OP: SM6FKF] made RA1ZC via AuroraE, a rare mode and often not detected due to low activity.
Involved DXCC: UT5, UA6, 4X4, OD5, SU, SV, LZ, YO, F, DL, ON, PA0, LX, G, GW

I heard him on 144.050 more then one hour continious after our QSO. Don't think he made any more QSO's at least not after our QSO. Don't know what happened before. His signal was S1 to S5 with jump up to S9 on MS-reflections. His tecnique was to send lots of dots with call in between, so if you hear mny dots on 144.050 it might be him.
