June 02. 2003 - High MUF the whole day | Please send your comments/reports/log-sheets/audios to DK5YA

MUF was high the whole day through leading to a first opening at 12.09 UT from IS0 to LZ. That one lasted until 12:17 UT. At 12:35 the band opened from I and DL to SV until 13:38, more MS than Es some say...- Later in the afternoon MUF was always close to 144 MHz but the "final jump" occured at 17:09 UT when YO was into F. A bit later F was working into UB5 while LZ was into HB9. Again LZ and YO into F and SV8/DL5MAE was busy with I and IS0. At 18:07 he was on .300 in a big pile until 18:41 working I, DL, PA0, F, ON. SV3 made OZ this time while SV8DTD was into DL and PA0 too. Still LZ in HB9 and DL. SV8/DL5MAE was also heard in G as well as some LZ's. Last sigs at 18:41 UT. Please have a look on G4LOH's ionoscatter log too.
Involved DXCC: SV, LZ, YO, UB5, I, IS0, F, HB9, DL, PA0, ON, OZ.

Wolfgang's signal popped right out of the noise the very moment I  calculated the skip open from here to KM38 (thanks G7RAU software). No other dx-stations were heard, only SV8/DL5MAE again and again.

IONOSCATTER conditions have been amazing, if they get just a little better I will be trying FM qso's on ionoscatter! Many more stations now becoming active for this propagation which is great. I hope you can find a spot for this to encourage more stations to try it a single yagi and 400W is plenty when conditions are good.

Very frustrating on this es opening, nothing in the log.
Hrd: yo5??,lz1pp,lz1zp,lz2fo and sv8/dl5mae, signals
were weak and  the best I managed was a qrz?? from
lz2fo. Wolfgang was vworkable for just a short time but it was not to be.
