May 29.: In the morning short and spotty in Eastern Europe - but later - BOOM! A big bang, Es all around Europe for hours and hours, huge high MUF clouds almost everywhere [except Northern Europe, sri folks]. A fantastic day with several very long distance QSO's beyond 3.000 km's and rare DXCC's like 4X4, 5B8, TA4, EA8, CN8. Later in the evening there was an intense, strong and unusual FAI when Southern DL was working into EA7.
I was getting almost mad when I lost 4X1IF due to QRM by locals...(ed.)
Due to the huge amount of logs there's another May 29. page, [Part 2 here]

Hi Udo
This was the most intense es opening to EA/CT/CN opening that I have experienced from here (bad direction). 2m sounded like 6m, amazing signals . After earlier phase, I was thinking of going to 6m to make the most of opening, then 2m opened big time!

Very short distance opening with the scatter point somewhere above the south of the Bay of Biscay. Missed most of the excitment as I was gardening :-(( but the contact with EA9IB was a nice surprise.

Hi
Here is my 2m Es report for the two days. Not everyone has made it into the log yet but this is a good representation of qso's worked by me. A few new squares and EA9 / CN8 / IW0 all new. Thanks for the qso's. The 29th was best for me with the band absolutely full of EA stns (incl Taxis ) Downside - the mess on 144.300! I can understand it at the beginning of the opening but
once it's obvious that it is a big event - for example 5,000 spots / second :-) surely it would be more productive for everyone to spread out a little.

Heard EB8HTV but not worked because of tremenduous pile-up and stronger signals between EA8 and PA.

Wow, nice opening, lasting from 1600utc to 1910 utc here. Band full of CT, EA7, EA4.
Worked my 1st QSO at 1605 with CT1HZE from my car (1st QSO with new radio, 100w+5/8), then started hunting for "real DX" from home station. At 18.12 utc I heard EB8BTV in IL18QI quite weak, called him once and he answered me immediately :-)) 3156 km for a new ODX (without EME here).

"swl" means: Not called, QSO before, no need to do again, but good signal anyway, just for the log.
Three openings today, very nice specialy EB8BTV.

One of the best openings ever for me even though I was QRV during a small part of it due to sequencer upgrade. Chaos all over - too many stations too close to 300. If the DX spreads out they will make more QSO's and so will we (the JO20/21/31 crowd). Absolutely fabulous was the QSO with EB8BTV for 3117km.
